Default Heathkit Serial Number Question..

Hello..

I always thought that Heathkit equipment used an aluminum sticker that
indicated the serial number and model of the equipment. I recently
came across a piece of test equipment made in 1989 that had a paper
sticker that bore the serial number and other mysterious information.
Did Heath abandon their metal serial stickers at some point for cost
purposes or did this paper sticker indicate that the unit was built
at the factory.

Does anyone have any knowledge regarding this practice?

Jim
