This is done with a combination of the yoke tilt position ( up and down, not
rotation ), and using edge magnets that extend down under the yoke windings between the tube bell and the yoke. The placement of these magnets is critical. Their part number should be in the service manuals of most of the Sony sets. The Sony parts dealers should be able to supply them. Most of the people working at the sales desk don't even know what they are even if you give the description! You would be best to have the part number for the ones used in you set. They look like thin strips of plastic with very thin magnets glued and taped at the end. If the lines are very badly skewed, this can also be attributed to a defective CRT. If the set was good before, and the problem is new, I would have suspicions. -- Greetings, Jerry Greenberg GLG Technologies GLG ========================================= WebPage http://www.zoom-one.com Electronics http://www.zoom-one.com/electron.htm ========================================= "Robert Dubord" wrote in message ... I've seen the rubber wedges fall out of hundreds of these sets; if the yoke
isn't real tight, it may drop out of it's factory set position. Check this, and if needed, reinsert the wedges (you can usually tell where they were by the lack of dust in the area where they were. |
