Default SHARP 25AV79 VERTICAL COLLAPSE

Hello I have a Sharp TV 25AV79 with a vertical collapse problem. Any
ideas on a specific fix for this unit? It would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks,

Dan Gett:
Yes, lots of ideas for a fix.... you need to dust off your test equipment
and tools and begin to troubleshoot the vertical deflection circuitry, check
for high ESR electrolytics, shorted semiconductors, open resistors, bad
vertical output chip, missing flyback derived B+, faulty and cracked solder
connections, etc, etc.
For lots of troubleshooting tips, repair procedures and component testing
methods you might want to visit the website for this newsgroup at
http://www.repairfaq.org/
Take some time and read through the repairfaq, taking special notice of the
SAFETY information .... there are dangerous and lethal electrical shock
hazards inside the television that can still be present even when the
television is unplugged.... be very careful.
If you are still not certain how to safely proceed and actually perform the
necessary troubleshooting then you might be best advised to take your
television to a service shop for a proper and safe repair.... or at the very
least, get a repair cost estimate so you can make an intelligent repair
decision with facts instead of internet guesses.

Troubleshoot and repair the vertical deflection circuit. Should be a very
easy fix for even the apprentice technician.
