LCD TV Samsung LA32S81B white screen

The TV displays white images only.

Found one bloated capacitor in the power supply board. Replacing the cap did not solve the defect. Could a missing volage from the power supply board cause this problem?

Three potential culprits could be the power supply board, main board or the inverter board, or could there be something else?

Noticed the corners and edges of the display are slightly redish, so not sure if its worth repairing.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Is sound present and changes with different inputs?

The sound works fine.

Have tried all the inputs, AV1, AV2, HDMI 1, HDMI 2, PC, Component 1 and Component 2 with the same resuts. The picture and color is there in all the inputs but the background is very white. Occationally the dark spots changes to a cartoon-like green color.

Would like to know if this type of defect could be due to a defective TCON board?
Thanks.

Thanks.

It could be. or it could be a defective main board. I recommend
www.badcaps.net/forum as a source of interactive troubleshooting.

This problem could be a bad tcon, bad caps on the tcon or main board,
a blown fuse on the main board or the TCON, or a bad LDO regulator on
the main board or tcon. The fact that the audio is fine indicates the
power supply is fine, and that major parts of the main board are.
working.

My usual recommendation is to check the fuses and outputs of all LDO
regulators on the main board. If the outputs are good, replace the
tcon.
