Audio Cassett to CD via PC
Is there any "better" way to convert (educational) audio cassettes to CD
other than recording them with waveplayer? - = - Vasos Panagiotopoulos, Columbia'81+, Reagan, Mozart, Pindus, BioStrategist http://www.panix.com/~vjp2/vasos.htm ---{Nothing herein constitutes advice. I use and prefer Wave Corrector (http://www.wavecor.co.uk). It's not free, but is one of the better audio recording and processing packages at a very reasonable price. It has great tape hiss removal feature, as well as a graphic equalizer that can be applied to the audio. It's main purpose in life is to transcribe and clean up audio from vinyl records, and does a superb job at it, but it also handles tapes or any other audio source that you can plug into your sound card's line input. .. There's also Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/), which is freeware, and is used by a large number of folks. It has quite a large number of features, which makes it far too complicated for such a simple process. There's a page that describes the process for using Audacity at http://nsftools.com/misc/TapeToCD.htm. There's also AudioGrabber at http://www.audiograbber.org/. It's aalso a freebie, but I've never used it, so I can't comment on how good it is, or how easy to use.. Google for audio tape to cd software -- Dave M A woman has the last word in any argument. Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument. |
