It'll get you a pretty piece of paper, but there is no substitute for
hands-on experience. You'd do better to take a course at your local
college or uni as long as it involves a practical element.

I started as a mobile installer in the late 70's. Already had electronics
in the blood, knowing how to solder basic understanding about principals
I was selected for some advanced on the job training. Within a couple
years I had surpassed my mentors. I have trained techs fresh out of
school. One I remember couldn't solder two wires together. Having a
diploma won't land you a job necessarily. You'll still need some pretty
extensive training and someone willing to give it to you.
