Samsung LN-S4692D LCD TV TCON Board
 

Couple days ago, I was bitten by the famous Samsung
TCON board bug. (Sound but no picture. Backlight
is on.)

I realize the best thing would be just to replace the
A/S TCON board (Samsung Part Number: BN81-01286A) (and
provide some cooling for the new board,) but the
cheapskate in me wonders what component(s) on the TCON
board are responsible when the board fails in this
manner.

Can anyone shed some light on this please?
