What is this thing?
Bought this at a thrift store yesterday. Don't have a clue what it is.
Took it outside to get some photos of it and it starts making noise. No plugs or jacks on the outside and what looks like a photoelectric cell on the front. Obviously homemade. Any clues will be appreciated. Thanks. Monte http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9Ihytsr_1M |

Monte http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9Ihytsr_1M I would guess a bird caller or ultrasonic mosquito repeller. -- Jeff Liebermann 150 Felker St #D http://www.LearnByDestroying.com Santa Cruz CA 95060 http://802.11junk.com Skype: JeffLiebermann AE6KS 831-336-2558 |

Monte http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9Ihytsr_1M Seem to remember from a few years ago now, in some of the "101 Easy Electronic Projects" flavoured magazines, a project that used a photovoltaic cell (photo resistor??) to trigger an audio synth chip; the rate at which it chirped depended on how much light was shining on it (or something like that). |
