DENON DCM-420 Not Reading Disks

wrote:

All,

I have a DENON DCM-420 5 disk changer that is no longer reading any
disks on the caraselll. In the past, the sensor that reads the
carousel went out, we replaced that and all was well for 10 years.
Now no matter what disk position a CD is in, the device does not
reconise it as being loaded, it will run throught all of the positions
1-5 and then show 0 for loaded disks.

Is this something that can be fixed, am I looking at a sensor or the
laser its self.

Pleaes advise, I have had this unit for sometime now, and realy do
like they way it works, just don't want to give it up yet.

group users. Give them the Brand and Model numbers, as well as the
symptoms and they may be able to help you.

Symptoms and age would make for a pretty typical worn-out laser, but worth a
clean first, just in case.
