Green Dots
Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has ever seen this: I bought a Hitachi 42EDT41 2 years ago (http://www.hitachi.us/tv/browse/plasma/plasma/ 42edt41.shtml), and for a couple of weeks now, when I start it up, I can see a bunch of green pixels grossly following the image at it changes. As the TV gets hotter, they start to disappear and then eventually, there are only 1 or 2 that are noticeable after 15-20 minutes. They are not burned, as they regain their color when the image changes. (Also, as days go by, there are more and more green pixels at start up). This is very, very annoying. So basically, my question is this: before they charge me 125$ for an estimation on the repairs, has anyone had this problem and if so, how much did it cost them to get it fixed ? thanks a lot. --max |

The fault may be in the matrix decoder, or in the video address
processor areas. In many of the plasma sets, some of these areas are built as part of the main display. Your TV is serviced by module replacement, and then doing the set- ups. Don't be surprised of the repair is very expensive. What kind of "set-ups" do you have to do on a digitally addressable
display after a module replacement? It's not like you have to adjust the deflection and correct for pincushion.
