How to open a Sony Vaio Laptop case?

Hello,

I've tried searching for help on opening up a Sony Vaio PCG-GRV670 laptop
case without any success. I'm hoping that someone here may have some
pointers or a link that may be of help.

The reason that I need to open up the case is that the power connector
socket has apparently broken away from the motherboard. This is evidenced by
wiggling the connector with the power cord plugged into it. Doing so, will,
on occasion, allow the laptop to boot. Once it is up and running it will
work for a while, however, it eventually loses AC power, which, I suspect is
due to heat building up at the bad connection, unless you wiggle the
connector again.

I've had almost the whole thing apart before, but couldn't get to the
underside of the motherboard where I need to solder the connector. I didn't
want to break anything, so I put it back together and started searching
again.

Hopefully, if I can get the case open, I'll be able to solder the connector
and fix it permanently.

Thanks in advance to those who post a reply to the group.

Peter.

There are some instructions for various models he

It seems like lots of the models, but not any GRV's sadly, just GRT
and GRX...
