Packard Bell Easynote E3 Laptop Won't boot, no picture, no POST

Machine was just fine, checked the obvious and ram, harddisk, ... is all
fine, no picture at all.
Machine suddenly stopped working while booting xp, now only a long beep, 2
seconds wait, another long beep
and so on.
Google does not make me any wiser, neither packard bell.
I'v re-seated the cpu to no avail.
Anyone seen this before?

Does the hard disk drive spin up when the laptop is booted?

Otherwise - need to know the POST code for that laptop, one long, 2 seconds
and another long ...

Have you checked the hdd on a desktop using an adapter?

That's what i can't find.

The hdd is fine, and even with a faulty or no hdd i should have a picture on
my external monitor.
I removed hdd, dvdrw, wlan... same problem, no post, only a long beep every
sec.

Beep - Pause - Beep - Pause - Beep - Pause

is generally an memory error or no memory inserted.
