Sony Prism Block

Hi Everyone

I recently had my projector checked for service and was told that my
projector needed to get a new prism block assy which cost more than
what the actual projector is worth. I did a search online and found a
projector for a fraction of the price and would like to know if this is
something that i can do myself. I am pretty tech savvy i usually fix
everything myself if pointed in the right direction . can someone help
me with putting this prism into the projector. It is a sony vpl-px11.

Thank You

Jeff

The manual may not detail the repair nor the parts if the prism is not
available as a discrete part. Many Sony units, like many other vendors, are
only available as part of the entire light engine. This is likely why the
cost of the repair was prohibitive. If the OP will post a model number he
might get some accurate advice.
