Pinout needed: Telefunken 603 tranisistor

From the 50's perhaps. A long black Ge with a dot near one leg. From
an old reel to reel tape recorder. The dot is the collector, center
leg is base and other is the emitter? Thank you for your time.

Guessing OC603. Package info sounds right, and it checks out right for
type, but a little later than 50's. Transistors didn't really start getting
into consumer stuff until the early sixties. I couldn't find any package
data in any of my old books, but the connections to blacked-glass
transistors with domed tops, was usually as you say ie E-B-C with the
collector marked with a red dot. Sometimes, there was also a slightly larger
space between the B-C legs, than the E-B legs. My data says that AC125 is
good enough equivalent

I would agree with Arfa that the most likely part number you have is
an OC603, and your assumption is correct. C-B-E with the red dot
indicating the Collector. Its main use is as a low noise preamplifier
at low voltages and low power.

My old Mullard equivalent book shows the OC603 as equivalent to the
AC107.

Data for the Ge PNP AC107 is;

Vcb 15V
Vce 15V
Veb 5V
Ic 5mA
Ptot 83mW

PS. forgot the hfe (small signal gain) is 60 and f alpha cut-off freq
(common base cct) is 2MHz.

By comparison the AC125 is more typical of an audio preamplifier or
driver transistor. ie,

Vcb 32V
Vce 32V
Veb 10V
Ic 200mA
Ptot 500mW

hFE (large signal or DC current gain) is 100 and f1 (freq at which hfe
= 1) is 1.7MHz.

Yes curious, the 1973 UK Semicon data book mentions the data as I
transcribed along with manufacturer being Telefunken, also mentions a
variant OD603/50.
But a German 1987 ECO (Electronic+Acoustic GmbH) book mentions
the one you refer to along with variant OD603, but no mention of Telefunken,
completely different characteristics.
