Hitachi projection TV Delay Startup - Model 60SX2K
I am working on a Hitachi rear projection TV - Model 60SC2K that has
developed an unusual problem. When the set is powered up after being off for a while, the red light on the front will light and the relay will energize (click on), but there is no sound or picture. If the set is left on anywhere from 3 to 5 minutes, the set will come on and work perfectly. If it is shut down and restarted it comes on normally. Only when it is turned off for any length of time will cause a delay in turning on after power is pushed. About a year ago, this set would intermittently shut down after being on for a while. I found and repaired a couple of cold solder joints in the vertical circuit on the deflection board which corrected the intermittent shut down problem. I have not opened this set up yet, but I was wondering if anyone else has ever run into this type of problem and maybe point me in the right direction. For starters, I am planning on checking the solder joints once again on the deflection board and maybe checking capacitors in the power supply. Any additional help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

Not an unusual problem at all on these sets. Check the small electrolytics
in the SMPS for ESR. You will likely find your problem. Leonard wrote in message ups.com... I am working on a Hitachi rear projection TV - Model 60SC2K that has developed an unusual problem.
