Extract fan motor

I have a single phase 850w extractor hood motor (manufacturer Casals) top speed 1400 rpm. At the moment I have only on/off control and would like to install a switch to enable variable speed. Any suggestions.

Extract fan motor

pgc2004:
Generally not a good idea especially for a 850 W motor. At hardware and
electrical supply store they sell fan speed controls but not for anything
that takes that much power.... maybe something could be special ordered....
but be careful, if you get near stall speed the motor can easily overheat.
Efficiency goes way down as the speed gets slower.
