Computer memory repair
Everybody probaly knows memtest, the problem is, i want
to find out in a simple way which chip is causing the fault. Memtest does not tell afaik. Any suggestions?, the chips are numbered. Bart Bervoets |

There are memory test programs that will give you the address of the
problem memory. Which chip this is will depend on how addressing is set up in the pc and how the address lines are routed on the memory module. There's a chance you could make an educated guess if you had all the BIOS settings and could trace out the address lines on the mobo, but I may be overlooking something. |

Bart Bervoets Bart: Try each chip one at a time. For further troubleshooting, try each chip and get a known good one, then test that known good in each slot. Adam |
