Trident ProVidia 9685 tv-out card unstable

Hi to everyone :-)

I have a Trident ProVidia 9685 PCI video card which has a tv-out feature.
The problem is that the tv image (can be configured through a jumper or in
the display properties panel) is very unstable, and if the image contains
too much white it jumps like crazy, sometimes making the tv lose vertical
sync. BUT the strange thing is that I've tested the card on four TV's, and
works excellent on two, and awful on the remaining two. Being a computer
card, it doesn't have that much capacitors and resistors as a TV or VCR,
just chips and surface mount components everywhere you look. The card
doesn't support PAL TV system, so I can't configure it for the wrong system.
The only thing I noticed was some kind of variable resistor or capacitor
(not sure) but it only has two pins and you can twist it more than one
revolution. Tried adjusting that but only makes the jumping worse, so I left
it where it was. Also tried the S-Video output, but no change. Since it
works perfect with some TV's, I'm dumbfounded. Any ideas on what can be
causing the problem, or what is the 'mistery part' ?

Thanks in advance,
Emiliano F.

It probably doesn't put out truly compliant video in the first place.
A couple of the TV's you tried handle off-frequency signals better than
others and that's why you got a good picture.
