HI
first time i have used this forum and wondering if i could pick your brains.. the silver wavecover has burnt in my microwave...is it dangerous to continue using it without the cover???ie microwave radiation in my food.....what exactly is the function of the cover thanks in advance |

it protects the magnetron . Protects it from moisture and grease.

BTW the item you are referring is normally made of sheet mica, and is placed
at the junction of the wave guide and cooking cavity. As stated it elimnates spalshes of material from reaching and coating the magnatron, burning there, and eventually destroying it. It will not be protected.It's very cheap to replace.Buy a strip,cut to
size.Not really dangerous but for the price why bother to take the risk |
