Can scratches on CRT screen be fixed ?
I have a customer with a beautiful 36" Toshiba that is hardly 3 years
old. CRT screen is scratched up in a few places. The scratches are deep and simple puffing did not help. Is there a procedure to remove deep scratches like that without causing more damage to the screen ? Thank you. moonlite |

Not much you can do with deep scratches in glass. Best you can do is take
some regular toothpaste on a cotton cloth and rub the scratched area. I wouldn't even go this far if the CRT is tinted with glare coating since you'll rub through it. If the toothpaste trick doesn't work, they'll have to live with it and start treating their property with better care. "moonlite" wrote in message oups.com... Another way to consider might be that liquid stuff that they sell to fill in tiny scratches in eyeglass lenses. Check with a good eyeglass shop. Take care. Ken |

They also sell something at the auto parts store for fixing cracks in car
windshields. It seems to be some sort of epoxy that supposedly can cover up cracks / scratches / holes! Attempting to polish out the scratch will make the area glossy near the scratch. 'Not much you can do about the problem. b. |
