Sony projection tv shutting off. Please Help!!!

I have a 53" Sony KP53S75 big screen projection tv. When I turn it on now,
there are multiple colored line that stay on across the screen. It flashes
through all three colors and then shuts off. It then will not turn back on
until I unplug and plug back in. Then it happens again. Any help would be
excellent. Thank you for taking your time to help me out.

Does the power led on the front panel flash any sequence, 4, 5, 6, blinke,
etc?? What diagnostics have already been done?? Have you confirmed vertical
deflection??

Do you have a multimeter, soldering equipment and some knowledge of what to
look for? If so someone may be able to give you some tips, otherwise you may
as well call a tech to look at it, there's no magic fixes for these things,
it requires measuring voltages and isolating the problem to a specific
subsystem and then tracking down the defective components.
