Samsung VR-507 receiver issue. Please Help!
 

Sound just died one day. Receiver turns on and seems to function okay.
If I turn up the receiver all the way and find an FM station I can
barely hear the station. Everything else gives me nothing. I replaced
the glass fuse where the power cord connects. I heard their may be an
internal fuse somewhere?? But I have been unable to locate it. If
anyone could hook me up with the service manual or some advice I would
be very grateful.

Are you certain that your VR-507 is made by SAMSUNG as your post
indicates? ? ?
I am guessing that you REALLY have the KENWOOD VR-507 receiver.... it
is an excellent unit.

The symptoms you described are most certainly NOT caused by a bad fuse
where the power cord connects nor by a bad internal fuse. Was the line
fuse that you replaced bad? .... If it were, the unit would not even
power up.

Most likely the problem is a front panel tape monitor switch left on or
rear panel missing jumpers or incorrect switch setting for the pre-amp
out to the main-amp.
If all of that is OK then the problem could be faulty components and/or
circuitry that can only be diagnosed with proper equipment and
procedures.
Without proper test equipment, electronics knowledge, repair experience
proper tools and replacement parts this is going to be a repair that a
shop or experienced tech should handle. Parts that "look good" can be
quite faulty and must be tested.
At the very least you should TAKE it to a repair shop for a repair cost
estimate so you can make an intelligent repair decision with facts
instead of internet wild guesses.

Thanks for the reply elctricitym. Indeed It is a Kenwood VR-507. I
don't know why I typed Samsung. I will look into what you said. Thanks
again for the info!
