Terminal/Connector block
Phoenix makes them like that, where you insert a small screwdriver to
release the catch lever, insert wire and you're done. Used all the time for PLC / industrial panel wiring, in the DIN rail style terminal blocks and such. Should be able to find it on their website (or TE's or anyone else's?), not necessarily a searchable property on Digikey but give that a try too. I've seen the kind with the integral locking lever (not an insert-blade-to-release kind), for wire-to-wire jumpers, don't know if they make those for terminal blocks too. Am looking for manufacturer of an unusual terminal/connector block.
As examples of what i am NOT looking for a 1) The "standard" type that "everyone" seems to make - see PhoenixTerminalBlock.JPG; objection here is that the wire is held down by a screw clamp. 2) The closest to what i am looking for is similar to the garden variety wall outlet where the wire is pushed in and held by a spring-loaded clamp (slot available to release the clamp). What i am looking for is similar to the Phoenix, but the wire clamp mechanism is like a lever; lift up, then push in stripped wire, then push down to clamp; it seems to latch in that position as it is damn near impossible to lift enough to release the wire. Suggestions? |

That integral locking lever scheme sounds exactly like what i am looking for; any more info on that? |

Did a screen capture of the enlarged foto..(a) not wire push-in like what the "fb" system uses, and definitely NO release tab/button; It is a lever one lifts to then push in wire, then lower the lever to (am guessing) latch. |

Have fun :-) Sammy Attached is a close-up of the connector system in question. The Wago is close, but no cigar; i have indicated in the picture, the locking levers which are similar to the Wago. The Wago levers seem to stick out a lot and it would appear that they would still stick out even when closed down; also that one could un-connect as needed. Did not find useful drawings of their scheme. The levers in this sprinkler controller system*, as you can see, are reasonably flush when closed - and they do not seem to lift very far. Hard to tell as i did not want to break one in an attempt to disconnect & release the wire (which is why i used the description of "locking"). *((RainBird sprinkler control)) |
