Simple High Voltage supply question REVISITED
Refer to slightly revised schematic 0505.gif.
Looking at first set of scope shots 095~100.gif: in 095 R2 and V(C5) were adjusted to show T1 primary going into saturation: the typical exponential-type of current curve - stopped at exactly the maximum. In 096, the same was done - note R2 was lower for a shorter Q1 ON time - what is puzzling to me is that the peak sat current is higher - ?because of higher V(C5)? In 099 i made C(V5) higher - note the peak sat current abruptly falls, then sags. In 100 the time is at a "minimum" and i increased V(C5) to max. ** Next set 103-105.gif, kept V(C5) constant and twiddled R2; note same peak sat current abruptly falls, then sags - in 105 it sags out of saturation and one sees an "inverse" ramp. ** Next set 106-108.gif, again kept V(C5) constant and twiddled R2; note T1 goes into saturation in 107 and 106 but never peaks out. ** Comments? |
