dc motor problem ??
 
hi i have i problem, how does not :))

well i have to DC motor they run on 36v and they have a 40amp trip
breaker , ho yes i forgot its a big scrubber. well the problem is
this if a let run but motor for i while the breaker will trip and if a
disconect one motor the breaker will not trip. i check both motor i
think i swap back and forth and both motor works as long one only run.
is any way to see if the breaker is bad or one of the 2 motor.

Check the Voltage drop across the breaker !!, How hot does the breaker
get ? Are the connections to the breaker tight ?

You have two motors on one breaker? Either motor will run without
tripping the breaker?

One motor may be bad and working because removing the load of the
second motor lets the breaker squeak by current wise - can't rule out
the breaker.

Why not switch breakers or (better) measure the current of each motor?

A single measurement can often replace a lot of arm waving and head
scratching . . .

Measure the circuit current and find out just how much current is
passing through the breaker. Your question without this detail, and
information on the breaker protection settings do not allow a proper
assessment of the problem. Also how long does the breaker remain
closed when both motors are running ? (It may be that the starting
current is too high for the settings).

thx i will replace the breaker is a 40amp i check the RPM of each
motor and the new is 300rpm the old is 247rpm same voltage to both
motor, i didn't check yet the breaker but one of the plug (+) for the
motor gets really hot ??? , i think bad connection.
