What's that?

It's a sampling head from an Iwatsu 12 GHz sampling oscilloscope,
basically a 30 ps sample-and-hold. The little pill package all glopped
with solder is the SRD that generates the sampling impulse. The
sampler itself is most likely a dual schottky diode half-bridge.

I collect old sampling heads, among other weird things. I'd post more
pics, of other heads, but Mr Shepherd might get upset.

Not at all, John.

When was the last time the you read the group charter?

Question: Is this the only binary group you have subscribed to in your
news client?

There are plenty of places where it would be better located, especially
in light of some of the complaints some have registered about large image
sizes.

It would help the group, not hinder it. You'd have to be pretty bull
headed to ignore that fact.

The group seems to work adequately well as it is right now... The occasional
donkey's ass, and schematic don't seem to bother the political discussions.

I don't see what difference the size of the file would make since
whether it was posted here or somewhere else, its size would be the
same.

Besides, the complaints about file size have largely been about that
the file size could be made smaller by reducing the resolution
and/or number of colors as required to render the image nicely
viewable but not morbidly obese.

I disagree. We've all become accustomed to using abse for
exchanging pictures and discussion as well as to post schematics,
and _forcing_ a change at this point would greatly inconvenience
everyone involved. Not you, perhaps, but you just got here and you
should do as the Romans do instead of going out of your way just to
make trouble. That is, if you really are who you say you are.

You missed the point. People complain when this group gets flooded with
too many large image files, particularly when they aren't even on topic.

The funny part is that they won't chime in right now, but I could cite
several posts by "respected" regulars that have complained about stupid
text discussions here, as well as off topic binary posts.

Instead of deriding me, you could actually admit that I have a valid
point, but such concessions are not in your character very often, from
what I have seen.

Yet another GOOD reason for having a group dedicated for images where
even the highest res posts would not be ****ed on.

That is just plain silly. Adding one more group to your groups list is
a trivial task, and you don't ever have to pull headers from it if you
don't care to, and a simple sample pull for a recent post you do want to
look at would suffice.

You're an idiot. It was a single file attachment, and gets posted into
a binary group no differently than any other file attachment, and the
same way all the other posters here post attachments, idiot.. You really
are stupid about Usenet, and you prove it every day you use it, kkkunt.
