An insult implies intent. The problem with Boris is that he seems to do these things
unconsciously, like his comments about Muslim women wearing the burka looking like

Its totally unacceptable for people who become Prime Minister of the
UK to have made jokes in the past which are actually funny.

Its the old story. Everyone loves people who are very good at one thing.
Once a person tries to, or succeeds in doing two things well they start being
resented. Everyone knows that when Boris's political career goes tits up
he'll revert back to the journalism and clowning. Along with the bigger pension.

Its surprising nobody from Liverpool has spoken up yet. He must have
said something highly offensive to them, at one point or other.
