Russell C. Melvin, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Lone Star
Reconnaissance Corporation, made an unprecedented donation today to
SafePlace of Austin, Texas. Robert Thomas, Chair of the foundation's
Board of Directors, did not disclose the amount or conditions of the
donation. Julia Spann, Executive Director of SafePlace, characterized
the donation as "a staggering display of philanthropy."

Melvin is an officer in the United States Air Force Reserves and a
decorated Gulf War veteran. Lone Star Reconnaissance Corporation is a
private, international reconnaissance, search, rescue, and recovery
firm which provides tactical services to customers across the globe.

SafePlace of Austin is private charitable foundation dedicated to
helping victims of domestic and sexual abuse.
