Hi,

I saw a cool jewelry box at a shop and was wondering how it was made..
it looks like they used a band saw but I don't know.. if anyone has
Ideas I'd like to hear them..
they looked like thishttp://www.allthingsrustix.com/rustic_log_jewelry_boxes.html

I'll assume they use some means to temporarily hold the log flat and
then it's a pretty straightforward band saw box. Have a look at
"Building Beautiful Boxes With Your Band Saw" by Lois Keener Ventura.

Normally you would saw off the back, then cut out the drawers, then
glue the back on again. I would guess that in this case there is no
back, the drawers go all the way through, but I could be wrong.

Thanks for the info i'll see if that book has what I'm looking for..
Yeah, I think they would cut the back off, not sure how they make the
drawers, would they break the bandsaw blade and then put it through a
drilled hole then mend the blade back together?
Seems like a lot of work...
