What ever you end up using, you will need to be very careful that you don't let
it get on the chrome drain. Many caustic cleaners will take the finish off and
older tubs don't have an easy way of replacing the tail pipe. Even if you can
replace the stopper, having a base metal ring around it will not look very
good...
