Default Pulsating water from faucets

We've been in our house for about 8 years and in the past week or so have
noticed water sometimes pulsating when it comes out of the faucets. Any
idea what could be causing this or suggestions for fixing it? Any help
would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

P.S. I've looked for other posts, but the closest thing I could find
related to people who get their water from wells, but we don't have a
well; we're on "city" water.

An instance of pulsating water that I had experienced once was due to a
washer coming loose inside a faucet. When the faucet was turned on, the
washer bounced up and down on the shaft of the loose washer screw. Since
you say it involves all of the faucets, you might look at your main or
branch shut-off valves. See if operating the valves makes a difference.

However, the problem could still be in just one faucet. If the culprit is
on and pulsating, then the flow from other faucets that are on the same
system and on at the same time could be affected.

A fix is simple. Take the faucet or valve apart and tighten the washer
screw -- might as well install a new washer while you're at it.
