Technical Specifications
I use industrial grade high carbon steel. It is processed as required and then sent
out for professional heat treatment. This process is performed in atmosphere
controlled ovens to prevent surface carbon burn off. It is superior to backyard
torching and provides product quality and consistency. After treating, blades are
fully sharpened using water wheels to prevent scorching. The resulting blades are
superior to original products in that they have higher grade steel and they are
harder. They will hold their edge longer than originals and will perform better.

These cutters will be as good and better as anyones HCS stuff, and higher tech
hardened than St. James Bay tool co. where they heat with torches, as I was told
by them on the 'phone. Jim sends the metal out to be hardened and tempered in
atmosphere controlled ovens. Jim just isn't doing A2.

If you want A2 for cheaper, take a look at Spehar Tool Works, Canada, good
deals and US priced. Even a 2-5/8" (fricken!) #8 blade for $31. Their smoother

actually, they are both correct- sort of. Krunchy is right as far as
standard usenet practise is concerned, Dave is right as far as typical
rec.woodworking practise is concerned. but it's all testosterone and
posturing- there is no governing body setting rules and no usenet
police enforcing them.

MM, well, the wreck doesn't have a charter (or even a real FAQ) so when
it comes right down to it there aren't any rules, least not anything you
can quote when placing a complaint to an ISP, which largely rules out
abuse complaints outside of the ISP's TOS, which is often couched in
terms of the newsgroup charter....you begin to see the issue. The OP is
a good poster and deserves a little leeway anyway.

feels it's wrong, otherwise he would. But I have zero problems sharing
