Zanussi dishwasher just stops
My Zanussi dishwasher, model DW925, has suddenly decided it would be a
good thing to stop near the end of the program. It finishes the wash and rinse cycles OK, but during the drying cycle it stops and buzzes, clearly waiting for a signal that never arrives. If I move the program on a bit by hand, the buzzing stops and the program finishes properly about 7 or 8 minutes later, with everything properly washed and dryed. Anyone got any ideas as to what it waits for please? Regards, Gary Wooding |

Anyone got any ideas as to what it waits for please? After watching the end part of the cycle (it normally runs at night so I don't usually see it run at all) I have some further information. I saw the cycle about 2/3 thru the wash section - it was buzzing from the rear of the machine, the dishes appeared to have been washed OK and the program timer was still running. At the end of the wash cycle (red section on the program dial) the pump started and the dial moved to the green (rinse) section - it was still buzzng. No water came in but the dial continued to move as normal until it reached about 1/2 way thru the rinse section, when it stopped. The buzzing continues until the dial is manually moved 2 more notches, when it then moves under its own steam. From that point on, the program continues thru the red (dry) section and ends normally. Water was not admitted any time thru the green (rinse) section, but water is certainly admitted earlier 'cos the wash section has certainly worked properly. I'm convinced that the heater, the pump and the water inlet valve are all working properly. I apologise for the initial wrong information, 'cos the rinse cycle has not completed - it stops 1/2 way thru as stated above. Could it be something to do with the water softener or the rinse-aid dispenser, and if so, how do I check please? -- Regards, Gary Wooding Now it sounds as though one of the fill valves or the drain pump are faulty. When the door is opened, is there water still in the bottom of the tub ? And is the machine hot inside ? |

Regards, Gary Wooding Weird why it seems to be washing OK, but not going through the rinse properly. I take it all the soap is being dispensed alright and the salt and things seem to be being used ? The only other thing I can think of now, is that there is a second valve for the rinse cycle water, but this is unusual as the machine normally fills from one valve for any cycle. It could also be a timer fault. The machine should give one good rinse in hot water then use the residual heat from it to dry the dishes. But you say the tub is hot and empty so it maybe a timer fault. If the switching for heater in the timer has burned out, then it will sit and wait for the thermostat to tell it to move on. Time to get an engineer out to it me' thinks. ( --- www.basecuritysystems.no-ip.com Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
