Default Using a sds chisel on wood

Has anyone tried using an sds drill with a spade concrete bit on
wood?

The bit would be sharpened into a chisel grind first. would it work?
Wood sds chisels are hard to get here.

thanks

Never tried them, but cheap enough:

I would guess it would not be a great success. Wood chisels are hardened to
a much higher degree than chisels for concrete, which have tio be very much
tougher but don't need to be very sharp.

Imagine what would happen if you took your best wood chisel, put it on
concrete and gave it a tap - the edge would break up immediately because the
steel is very hard. Because the concrete chisel is softer you'll never get
as good an edge on it for cutting wood.

I watched a paving contractor using the standard bit to break up a tree
root. Bounced around a lot IIRC
