Default Outside socket

I recently installed an. Outside socket, wired up from an indoor socket on the
ring main, the box is plastic, so I just ran live to live, neutral to neutral,
earth to earth. After 5 minutes or so it kept tripping out, all the wiring was
correct, any answers? Please

Is this a socket designed for outdoor use? Was it clean and dry when you
installed it? Is it undamaged so water can't get in? (I'm assuming you
have the cover firmly closed)

Could you clarify what exactly was tripping? (i.e. the circuit breaker /
MCB or a RCD)

Or it's soaking wet.

I'm afraid this is a question that indicates fairly clearly that you
should have had the job done by a competent person.

If you understood what you were doing, it would take less time to
diagnose than waiting for Windoze to boot up on your PC to write the
"help" plea.
