My Hyster s50e is leaking tranny fluid also. It appears to be coming out of stae
It looks to be coming out of starter. Looks like its from starter factory
seam. Not sure if this is even possible -- posted from http://www.polytechforum.com/metalwo...-b-623865-.htm using PolytechForum's Web, RSS and Social Media Interface to rec.crafts.metalworking and other engineering groups |

What allows the ring gear to spin? Bearings tied directly to the crank..sealed with ..a seal on the engine side and a seal on the tranny side. One assumes your starter is at the junction between the engine and tranny, which is the usual place. If the seal on the tranny side has gone south..it will bleed tranny fluid. Most forklifts dont have much of a "bell housing"..generally bolting the transmission directly to the engine. Problem with forklifts..its damned hard to crawl underneith them unless you have a work pit you can drive over. So you call the forklift guy and spend a grand or more..or dig a pit in the ground and drive the forklift over it and crawl into the pit. Sucks |
