I need to be able to cut 5.250" X 19.000" +/- .015" panels (100 pcs) Is this possible with the radial saw? What type of blade would you use? any recommendations from the group?. Thanks Ron Sure it is. I've done 1/2 inch with my RAS (a Craftsman from the 60s) use a tripple chip grind blade with 0 rake if available and/or use "push through" ie. start cut from the front. Use Parafine for blade lub, just touch the running blade with a block of "jelly canning parafine. I did the 1/2 in in two or three passes. CLAMP the work down HARD. :-) ...lew... And you should have seen the stuff I cut with my table saw. 1/1" plate, 1" bar, extruded heatsink 2.5" tall with a 3/4" base section. Carbide blade, a light spray mist, and dress up like you're going on an Apollo moon mission. michael -- release the fish from the net to reply |
