Default Normal to see bed bug after extermination?

Our neighbors had bed bugs and we live in an apartment complex. We had to be treated for them because they have to treat the entire building when one person has them. We haven't had any signs of bed bugs (we check the mattress every night before bed because we're terrified of getting them) and the second part of the extermination was just done 2 weeks ago. However, we just found one on our living room wall! We read online that others have found one or two after extermination, we just want to make sure this is normal and that we don't now have them. Thanks!

If you have one or two live bed bugs, you will soon have a lot of them.

It only takes two live ones to make millions more.
Capture any you find and present them to the landlord as evidence that the
extermination was not successful

And continue to check the mattress *very* carefully. I assume by
"mattress" that you also mean the sheets, etc. The little rascals can
hide there also.

I rather have a ton of fleas and mosquitoes than have a single bedbug. I知 so afraid of them. How did they attempt to exterminate them? I read that any chemical that is effective against them is illegal to use in the United States, so I知 very curious to know.

for them or along the bed railings.

It is common for bugs to appear after treatement. When I spray my own
house, I will see a lot of "drunk" bugs shortly thereafter. They are
affected, and instead of hiding, they will come out in broad view. That is
good because I know the spray is working.

I spoke to an exterminator about this and he said all they could do was
heat up the whole room to kill them. They do not have an effective
insecticide since things like DDT were banned.

Doesn't heating to such high temperature damage electronics like TV etc?

AIUI, boric acid works, as well as food-grade DE. Don't know how long it
takes, though.

As long as you're not running them, no. They're good to at least 250F for a
long period, which is far higher than is needed to kill cooties (110-120F?).

Dear MarieYad

If you are not sure about the presence of bed bugs and also have concerns for chemical treatments or Heating treatments, you should go for the Green Pest Management i-e Using Bed bugs detecting dogs. Pls. contact a pest control company near your dwelling

When you get in a car wreck, and make it out alive, you comfort yourself by telling yourself that it's only material things.

When your house burns down, or is burgled, or you're mugged on the street, you tell yourself only material things were lost.

Yet, when it comes to killing icky bugs with chemicals that will melt your face off and kill you, suddenly saving the TV is job #1...

"I'm in the hospital dying of cancer, but those icky bugs are dead and more important, my TV is okay!"

Makes PERFECT sense.

This is just one of the reasons I知 an isolationist. Close all foreign bases and bring all our soldiers home, stop aiding foreign countries because they will only hate us in the end. Give stiff punishments for any employer hiring an illegal alien. Leave the UN and NATO and stop policing the world. Tell them that if any country wants our help it should join the United States as another star on the flag. Put stiff fees and tariffs on all imports. Place high taxes on companies that outsource jobs to foreign countries. Place high taxes on anyone who wants to come back after traveling outside of the U.S. so that they stop spending their money in foreign countries. We may have slightly higher prices but a lot less unemployment. Tell the world that from now on we will have nothing to do with it and that we will be fighting all wars on the cheap and that if any country messes with us we are simply going to nuke it out of existence. And last but not least NO MORE BED BUGS because we won稚 have anyone bringing it here.
