drawer kits
Eric wrote: I'm building a work bench for general purpose work around the house. I'd like to add a couple of wooden drawers (prefer wood but steel is a fall back if cant get wood drawers) to it but I don't have the expertise to make them myself (ie dovetails etc). .... I'd suggest here's a perfect opportunity to develop some expertise--it's "just" a workbench so other than being structurally sound, if there's some inexpertise showing, it's not like a dining room hutch or something. As others noted, there are other ways besides dovetails to make a solid joint (a box joint on the tablesaw comes to mind as one pretty simple but very strong option). Even practice on making a simple nailed box drawer or two would be valuable for a complete novice... Just imo, ymmv, $0.02, etc., etc., ... |
