Default Stinky Recliner, how to take out the stink

I've had a recliner for 10 years and it really stinks (probably
because of all of the oils in my skin that I leave behind over time).
Anyway, I sprayed it with Fabreeze and now it has that stinky Fabreeze
smell that makes me want to puke.

Is there anything that I can use or do that will stop the stink?

the smell is in the foam padding, theres nothing 100% and affordable.

scrub with carpet fabric shampoo.

the only real soultion is getting it reupholstered, after 10 years its
about time

with cheap furniture just replace it.

ther are sealed room with ozone generator but its costly. might call a
fire restoration company, for tons of bucks they can get the odor out
of anything

Try commercial cleaning or try doing it yourself using appropriate
materials for the covering of the recliner. There are companies that
specialize if fire restoration that have special expertise in these problems
and equipment like Ozone generators, but likely that is going to cost more
than the recliner is worth.

Ever hang your laundry outdoors on a line?

UV rays from the sun kill all sorts of odor-causing bacteria.

Watch the weather report, and wait until a full week of blistering-hot
sun-baked days are forecast.

Set the thing outdoors in full sun. Rotate it each day so that all six
sides (left right front back top bottom) get sun.

You'll be amazed at the results.

(Make sure you don't put it someplace where it will pick up ants or
chiggers etc).

Buy Nature's Miracle stain and odor remover from a pet store and get
enough on the areas of concern to make them wet or at least really
damp. This is an enzyme that will eat up the bacteria causing the
smell. Give it a week or so to work it's magic. Reapply until it all
goes away.

This stuff works and it isn't harmful if you get it on yourself. I use
it on carpet and fine living room chairs with reliable results. I buy
it in a plastic quart container.

I'd suggest a carpet cleaner, like Rinse N Vac. Spray, and the suck up
the wet solution. I've used that kind of thing on upholstery in the
past.

Hint: Spray it on, and then use a nylon scrub brush to scrub the
fabric. Then vacuum the solution out.

The chair will be wet for a couple days.

Febreze just added more stink. The solution is to rinse the stink out,
not add.
