CPVC pipe - gold vs blue stripe
Besides price, what is the difference between the two pipes? Both have
the same pressure rating printed on the pipe. |

CPVC pipe - gold vs blue stripe

I am unaware of color coding on PVC (copper yes but not PVC) maybe it denotes Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 pipe (different wall thickness). What size, length and price are you talking about. Even with color, there should still be printed markings indicating a difference. Any spec numbers on the pipe like ASTM xxxxx. If the prices are close, it might just be a different brand. |

Other than color are there any OTHER marking differences between the two?? The specs printed on the pipe are long, detailed specs, Schedule rating, pressure rating, temperature rating are a few of the specs. Read the specs carefully to see what the differences are. If the prices are within a few percentage points of each other, then the decision gets a bit easier, bUT NOT until you read the COMPLETE spec printed on the pipe. |
