plastic piece from snake stuck in tub drain
As this story will illustrate, I am not handiest man on the block.. My
bathtub on the second floor has been slow to drain, so I asked to borrow my father-in-law's drain snake. As I sent it down the drain, a plastic piece that goes over the snake (I think it acts like a set screw?) went down the drain too. The snake is down the drain about 2 1/ 2 feet and moves (both up and down), but I cannot get it out. It feels like the plastic piece is hitting near where the drain tailpiece hits the overflow pipe. Any suggestions? Time to call a plumber or drain specialist? Thanks! Singed - Ima Bonehead |

Patience, patience, patience. Keep turning, twisting, GENTLY
tugging-pulling-yanking. Try: twisting the snake the opposite way taking the cover off of the overflow and hooking the snake with a bent hanger to lift it before pulling lubing it up with a bunch of liquid detergent or shampoo Good luck! |
