Contact at Bank of America Tax Department (for property taxes)
Hi there,
Does anyone out there have a DIRECT contact number for a HUMAN at Bank of America's Tax Department based in Richmond, VA? This is the department that is supposed to pay the property taxes with the escrow money collected with a home mortgage payment. I've had all kinds of problems getting them to pay my taxes and all I have is an 800 number for the main BoA customer service (and they seem to have nothing to do with the tax department and just assure me that everything is being handled -- but they claim that they have no way of connecting me to them or sending them a message or checking with them). I have a mailing address and a fax number for this tax department and I've tried contacting them in writing. Once I even got a "we've received your letter and we're working on your case" response in writing. But their response included no way to TALK to them and explain the situation to a live PERSON, at least not a person in that actual department. Based on the fax number, I'm guessing that a phone number for this department might be 804-627-9xxx. I'm about ready to dial all 999 possibilities until I get a person who can help me... but I thought I'd see if anyone else out there has had to deal with them. Thanks |

Good luck. I had similar problems with another major lender who failed to pay part of my property taxes (double lot), and all I had for their tax department was a fax# (errors when attempting to send) and snail mail address. Their customer service said they were going to take care of it, but as tax sale time approached, could not tell me when. So I paid the missing tax myself. Then they got confused doing their own investigation without calling me, sent me too much money, and did not figure that out until following year. Fortunately when I refinanced, they gave me an interest bearing checking account for loan autopay and to pay my own tax/insurance. So now I can make sure everything is done right. |
