gouge repair
hi,
i'd like to repair a couple of shallowish gouges in my clapboard siding before i paint it. would i use an indoor/outdoor putty or would caulk be better? the wood is painted, and i don't think i'll be able to strip it down to the wood. there's some sort of paint on it under the layers that just won't come off, probably lead based. tia, ob |

if you can caulk it, caulk it and be done with it. plastic wood is
another option. all paint comes off, press harder. ) |

wrote in message ups.com... if you can caulk it, caulk it and be done with it. plastic wood is another option. all paint comes off, press harder. pressing, stripper (for lead based paint), nothing will take the older coat(s) off. it's been on there many decades. i think it's permanently bonded. what is plastic wood? |
