Miller votes in favor of fence across U.S.-Mexico border


RALEIGH, N.C. North Carolina congressman Brad Miller has been
criticized by his Republican opponent on immigration issues.

But yesterday, he voted in favor of an immigration bill that includes a
plan to construct 700 miles of fencing along the Mexican border.

Miller is a Democrat that represents the 13th Congressional District.
He has been targeted in a series of radio, television and Internet ads
by Republican Vernon Robinson.

Some of the ads are blunt. One radio ad says if Miller had his way,
"America would be nothing but one big fiesta for illegal aliens and
homosexuals."

Previously, Miller had voted in favor of an amendment that would have
constructed a fence.

But he voted against the final version of the immigration bill in
December, prompting criticism from Robinson.
